How can I get a new or replacement campus card?

If you are a new student arriving during either of the Main Registration periods (September or February), you would have been asked to upload your photo as part of the online registration process (before the campus card print run). This allows us to produce cards in advance. Your new campus card will then be available for collection once you arrive at university .

Outside of the Main Registration periods, or if you are a returning student or staff member and you need to request a new or replacement campus card, you can do this through the Campus Card Portal. If this is for a replacement card, you will not need to provide another photo.

Once you have submitted your request, we will contact you by email when your new campus card is ready for collection. You can then collect it from the MySurrey Hive location that you selected when you made your request. Please be ready to show us your campus card confirmation email and a form of photo ID when you arrive to collect it.

If the new card is a replacement, please also check that any special access to buildings or rooms on campus has transferred to the new card. In some cases, for example wet labs and other areas with limited access arrangements, you may need to request access again.

If you have an exam and do not have your campus card, you can create your own exam confirmation ID slip to use at your exam venue.

If you need access to the Library you can make a temporary pass each day on the self-service machine next to the Library Welcome Desk, Level 1. Just sign in with your IT username and password and you can print a paper pass. You are not able to issue books or laptops with this temporary pass.
