How do I find out the risk rating of my travel destination?
When travelling overseas as part of your university related travel, you will be required by your Head of Department (as part of the approval process) to undertake a review of the destination(s) of travel, which includes obtaining the risk rating of your destination(s).
You can obtain the destination(s) risk rating of your destination via the AIG Travel Assistance website or by using their app. You will be required to input your university email address and the University’s Policy Number 0010016168 to gain access.
Once you obtain the destination(s) risk rating they can be included when you are:
booking your trip through Egencia - the destination risk rating number should be added to your Egencia booking; or
registering your trip with the University’s travel insurance provider TravelCert. Any destinations that are deemed to be of higher risk will be flagged by us for review before we approve your application. You will not be asked to input a risk rating yourself.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DESTINATION
Prior to your departure on your overseas travel YOU must check that YOUR destination has not been moved onto a sanction list.
Where you are in possession of an approved coverage letter and your destination moves onto a sanction list prior to departure, you must contact the Insurance Office for confirmation of whether your cover remains valid. You can check the latest status of your destination on the AIG Travel Assistance website or app.
