I do not have a Blue Badge but have a medical need to park on campus, what should I do?
If you are already a Blue Badge holder you can register for a 12 month Blue Badge parking permit to park on both Stag Hill and Manor Park. You do not need to complete any other form of application, once this one has been completed, your permit will be active.
If you do not qualify for a Blue Badge but still require parking support on medical grounds, the university offers a Purple Permit scheme. This scheme is designed to assist individuals with physical or hidden disabilities, allowing them to use accessible bays across all campuses.
If you live on campus or locally within the GU1 or GU2 postcode areas, approval for this Purple Permit requires support from the Disability and Neuroinclusion team. Therefore we would recommend that in the first instance you contact them for assistance and they can guide you through the process and assist you in completing a Med1 form. You can contact the Disability and Neuroinclusion team via Surrey Support or by attending one of their drop in sessions to request assistance and their support for your application.
The Transport team collaborate with the Disability and Neuroinclusion team to review and process applications. Applicants do not need to provide documentation directly to the Transport team, as the Disability and Neuroinclusion team will confirm eligibility.
If you live off campus and outside of Guildford (outside of the GU1/GU2 postcode areas) the Purple Permit would be automatically approved if requested as part of the parking permit application.
The permit type would be Student Accessible / PAYG (or Pay Monthly) (dependent on payment choice). Once approved, you will be notified to collect your Purple Permit. This permit should be displayed similarly to a Blue Badge when using accessible bays on campus to avoid unnecessary parking fines.
