I have severe allergies. What support is available to me to help manage this in my accommodation?

If you have severe allergies that affect your accommodation needs, you should contact Disability and Neuroinclusion as early as possible and provide supporting medical evidence. This should explain your allergy, the impact it has on you, and any specific accommodation-related requirements.

The Disability and Neuroinclusion team will review your information and consider what support or provisions may be appropriate. Where your request can be supported, we will inform the Accommodation team so this can be considered in line with availability and accommodation processes.

Please note that the University is unable to guarantee allocations based solely on dietary requirements or allergies, and it may not be possible to remove all exposure risks in shared accommodation. However, we will consider whether any practical provisions can be put in place to help you manage your allergy safely.

The Communities Team may also be able to support you with communicating relevant information to your flatmates, where appropriate, to help you manage your allergy in shared accommodation.
