What penalties could be applied for cases of academic misconduct?

If it is determined that academic misconduct has occurred and there is no evidence of Special Circumstances, then a penalty will be applied. The same penalty is applied to concurrent cases.

The penalty applied normally increases with each additional instance of upheld academic misconduct.  Please see pages 16-17 of the B2: Regulations for Academic Misconduct to view the possible penalties.

You have the right to appeal the outcome of an academic misconduct process provided you do so within 10 University working days of the date you were notified of the outcome.

For more information on the academic misconduct process, visit our academic misconduct page.
