What should I do if I am locked out of my room?

If you are locked out of your room you should go to your campus accommodation reception to report that you are locked out. You will be asked to confirm your identity before a member of the campus staff can help you gain access your room.

If you are unable to go to your campus reception or it is outside of normal office hours (9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday), you can contact the Campus Safety team. A member of the Campus Safety team can help you but please be aware that there may be a delay and you may need to wait. The Campus Safety team allocate set times for dealing with non-urgent issues. Therefore, out of hour lockout assistance is only available at the following times, if there is an officer available: 10pm, 12am, 2am and 4am. Every lockout is recorded and no more than three lockouts per semester are allowed. Repeated lockouts will result in disciplinary action.

Campus Safety is an emergency response team and calls will be prioritised according to their urgency. As soon as emergency calls have been cleared other issues can be dealt with.
