When can I start looking for a placement?

Placements will become live for you to access on Surrey Pathfinder from the September of your second year, and you will receive notification from the Placements Team once these become available.

Please note September is 'early access' to our placement listings. Most employers advertise between October and May, and timings can differ between sectors. So, if you don't immediately see jobs in your field don't worry - we advertise thousands across the year!

However, did you know an increasing number of employers are now opening their placement roles early, enabling you to register your interest over the summer? 

There will be variations in timing for different sectors, so whilst it is important for those seeking roles in the finance sector to be active straight away, for a sector like hospitality, the majority of adverts will become available later in the cycle. Our advice remains the same for all students - do the groundwork and reflection over the summer to be ready to hit the ground running when your second year starts.
