Can I start my placement year with less than 120 credits?
Students who have achieved a minimum of 105 credits may be permitted to commence the Professional Training Year and subsequently progress to Level P provided they achieve the missing credits during the Late Summer Assessment period.
In cases where a student has not been able to take all their assessment attempts during the academic year due to confirmed extenuating circumstances, the local Director of Employability, with the approval of the Associate Dean, Education, can allow you to progress to the Professional Training Year if, in their academic judgement, this would be in your best interest. These judgements will take into account the number of missing credits and the nature of the placement you have accepted, amongst other factors.
