What is the difference between a Professional Training year and a placement year?
Professional Training is a term used specifically at the University of Surrey to refer to our year-long placements that form the penultimate year of an undergraduate degree. As this term is unique to Surrey, you will encounter other terms, such as "placement year" when searching for placement opportunities.
There are also different placement schemes for Clinical and Veterinary Medicine students, as well as for some select Postgraduate courses.
So, all Professional Training years are placements, but not all placements are a Professional Training year!
